Poetic.Coke.Lines

Seed of an absent father
Learned to strategize, play the game
Rather having it play me.
My poetic lines are similar to coke lines
Swimming in the addicts mind
Smoking a cigarette afterwards feeling fine

I breed wealth
My pen and pad reflects my health
I something wicked
Compared to no one else

Witness the fall of great men and women
So I roam alone
Seated at the right hand of my father
In search of my great Rome
Such horrific tales of young black males
I bring to the table
Shooting for fortune and fame, plus digital cable
A foolish American dream
However it's all mine.
Now, let's be real
Money, poetry, and rivalry make the world go round
Uneducated amateurs looking stuck
Unaware of what's about to go down
Don't get caught in the late night
Only thing roaming is addicts and goons
Stick-up kids ready to hit your set
Fork over the drugs…
Squeeze.
Boom! Boom!

This life is wicked.
About-face from it.
Stay clear from these posers
Their lips are getting closer to that glass pipe
Just because you lift weight
Doesn't mean you're physically FIT to live my black life

Know who your friends are
Keep your enemies guessing; fools stressing.
The future is your hands
Ball them up and make a fist or extend a helping hand like this...

Like pennies
I'm trying to figure out why people care less about me
Why am I often tossed aside?
Does my color upset you?

Dreams don't apply here

Born black and you tell me I should be proud.
Give me a reason.
Because, I have many
That will help you understand
"WHY?"
I am without a smile.

Who is Martin Luther King Jr.?
I heard about a dream he had
Was he sleeping?
Because I'm awake living the nightmare.
In DC, politicians named an Ave in his honor
So tell me, with his talk of peace
Why is that Ave climbing in homicidal rates?
With all he stood for
I would have figured it pleasant, if not great.
However, this is the real world. Wake up!

Dreams do not apply here.
Born and then you die here, does not seem quite fair.

I told my teacher, I'm sick of school.
She laughed, told me when I reach 40
No education.
What is a black man going to do?

Smoke crack?
I should have figured that.

Three fifteen School is OUT!
Staring at this junkie…
While my friends laugh.
I am picturing, this could be me if I am not wise with money?

On my way from school
"Am I black enough for you?" by Schoolly D;
Bounces through the speakers of a black truck with black rims and black tires driven by
A black man…

Got damn! Do not understand.
I have to work harder, think smarter
Just to put money in my empty hands
I want kids but I am not ready.
First, I got to find a place to live
A good job and make sure it's steady; can barely feed myself.
How can I produce babies?
Picture me saying to my kids
"I know you're crying because you're hungry. But check it, daddy doesn't have any money".

Went to the state, since no one else cares
Was offered a crack welfare
And a trampy borderline health care.
Like I said, this is the real world. Wake up!
Dreams do not apply here.
Born and then you die here; does not seem quite fair.

Everyone that is in your business
Are not in your business for the right business
So mind your business, before they plot to take over it.

How is Billy living’?
Surely, not like ME!
I rock tattoos to an interview
Now, all of a sudden
The position does not apply to ME!

I am blown now.
Wish I were home now.
I guess you start to smell the flowers
Once you move out your mom's house
Begin to live on your own now.

How can I be responsible for what another man does?
Let me clear that up.
How can I be responsible for what another black man does?
Do not get me lying. I don't know.
Nevertheless, this woman is clutching her purse
I guess I resemble the previous black man
That jacked her for what she is worth.

BLACK MAN

I lay a black man
A black man, yes I am
Head up and focused on opportunities
Not afraid.
My mind, body, and soul
Runs on ingenuity
Though life, mysterious as she may be;
Might tear me down
And stare me down
No matter where I sleep
Rest my head and count sheep's
I'll die a black man
Resting six feet deep...

Parade of rain

No clouds lurking in my forecast
A beautiful day with clear skies, is that too much to ask?
Why can't I smile? Why can't I have love too?
Unfortunately it's just the way it is...so miserable.
No clouds lurking in my forecast
A beautiful day, blue skies
Is that too much to ask?
Why can't I smile? Why can't I have love too?
Unfortunately it's just the way it is...so miserable.
When I was a kid
I never knew this world was racist
Until I hit 16
The older crowd told me to face it
Wish I could, take all the evil out and replace it
With tender love and care
So every boy and girl amongst us could embrace it
Unfortunately, I lived a jagged life
Morning and nights under the street lights
Unaware if this was wrong or right
Please, somebody notice me.
Look!
I'm without a dollar in my pocket
Dissatisfied, releasing cries
Wishing I had the finance to provide for my unborn baby
Silver and gold
What's to behold?
In this life nothing is new to me
Serpents are lurking and looking to leave you blue indeed
Why change your features,
It only covers what still remains
I see your pain
Don't hide; dry your eyes
It’s only pouring rain
Now, what's the outlook for the coming week?
Sunny, rainfalls, or Cloudy…
Because from this distance it's so hard to see
Vision is blurry. Need assistance. SOS hurry!!
I'll be lying if I told you I'm not worried. Black life…

No clouds lurking in my forecast
A beautiful day with clear skies, is that too much to ask?
Why can't I smile? Why can't I have love too?
Unfortunately it's just the way it is...so miserable.

Dreams

Dreams (In no way forgotten)

End all hate towards one another
And let’s begin to walk alongside our sisters and brothers
Honoring mother and father figures
Keeping the strive and hope alive
Let us do away with ignorant pride
Set aside a time to reflect
on the lives of those that have died

Upholding empathy and compassion
For all, trusting in better days
Together we can sum solutions

God is the only weapon I brandish against hatred
So let us thrust forward
With stern confidence in our guidance
That we can make it

Knowledge and compression
Is worth more then silver and gold
Behold, and search your heart
There the wonders will unfold
Let no one tell you negative
For they are the ones
Who do not want see you do your best
You’re beautiful
Keep telling yourself that if no one does
For you are the kings and queens of 2day and 2morrow
Let no one steal your treasures
And tell you, that you don’t measure

I vision tomorrow, but see 2day
I live 2day to see tomorrow
I close my eye a dream takes flight
Lifting me from heartfelt sorrow
I awake and start to pray
Asking merely for the light to guide my way
I understand that life goes on

But in no way are you and your dreams forgotten.

SOLD!

Start the bid.
What's the price of a black life?
Sold to the police officer with a gun in hand...
Bullets directed towards a man
For a juice and a bag of chips in his hand
Totaling 2.30
Bang! Bang!
If this is what I'm worth nowadays
For the youth I'm worried.
Is their a future bright enough
That will require us to wear sunshades?
If so, then I accept your invitation to brighter days.
No more pain.
New York nights will never be the same.
